Patom Organic Living - Bangkok

For Bangkok at its hippest you’d have to be in Thonglor. Bordering with Sukhumvit 55, this neighborhood comes with cold pressed juice stalls, creative ‘paintbars’, Japanese Onsens and trendy community malls. Hidden amidst all of this sits a serene breakfast and lunch address which, in our humble opinion, should be on everyone’s to-do list: Patom Organic Living.

Patom Organic Living is the type of place that has a story to it. Dating back to the 1960s when a family bought a piece of land just outside of Bangkok and developed it into an eco-tourism destination (now known as the Sampran Riverside) and kick-starting organic farming in the Nakon Pathom province. Today, the grandchildren of these pioneers took this countryside story back to the big city where they openend up their green house restaurant Patom Organic Living. Very Thonglor-proof, with smooth concrete floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and whitewashed interiors. All of Patom’s products are made at the organic farm of Sampran Riverside and at the network of organic farmers in Thailand - all part of the Sookjai Foundation.

The pastries come from the Theera Healthy Bake Room. Thai breakfast and lunch dishes are served in small lunch boxes or wrapped in banana leaves. Find a table at the huge windows or in the leafy garden at the back, which also sets the stage of Patom’s regular Farmer's Market. Next to breakfast and lunch Patom Organic Living also offers bathroom and skin care products. Like its food fair trade and right from the organic farmers over at the Nakon Pathom province.
