Magatzem 128 - Barcelona

Some of our favorite hotels come without any bells and whistles. Take Magatzem 128. Once a furniture warehouse, now an industrial-spirited boutique hotel located in Barcelona’s Eixample district. A sweet address with little facilities, but in a city with so much on display as Barcelona this might just be a relief.

Whenever we’re gallivanting our way through exciting cities, we aim to stay at pretty hotels that are affordable at the same time. Former furniture warehouse Magatzem 128 has got it all sorted. It’s the type of place that doesn’t compromise: all industrial and designy with battered concrete, vintage furniture, minimalistic bedrooms and giant plants, but at the same time with friendly rates starting at EUR 89 per night. A bargain given you’re in ever-popular Eixample.

Bedrooms

The sixteen rooms at Magatzem 128 range from 12 m2 interior doubles to larger comfort doubles of 17 m2 and duplex lofts of around 20 m2 that fit up to four. All rooms come with free wifi, a private bathroom with amenities and city or interior views. Again, nothing extraordinary but it has all we need after a long day of browsing around Barcelona’s exciting neighborhoods. Daily coffee and sweets are on the house and served each morning in the ground floor living room. A perfect kick start before Ubering out for breakfast or brunch at favorites like Little Fern and Satan’s Coffee.
